About Us
My name is Jing Ping Tang, and I am the proud mother of a 19-year-old daughter. As a passionate early childhood educator and daycare owner, I’ve always been committed to providing the best possible care and educational experiences for children. What started as creating a nurturing environment for my own daughter has expanded into a deep dedication to fostering the growth and development of all the children in our care.
I hold both a bachelor's and a master's degree in art education, along with formal qualifications as an early childhood educator. My journey in this field began in 2005, when I launched a home daycare program under McGill University's home daycare initiative. I initially cared for eight children, including my own daughter, and quickly recognized the profound impact of providing high-quality, individualized care in a structured learning environment. This led me to expand my vision and share these benefits with more families.
With over 20 years of experience, I am privileged to be able to bring the Montessori philosophy to our daycare programs. The Montessori method, which emphasizes independence, self-discipline, and a love for lifelong learning, is at the heart of the care we provide.
In 2018, we embarked on a new chapter by planning for child care centers at 215 boul. Amsterdam. This project received incredible support from Mr. Camille Villeneuve, the developer of the Plateau housing project, and his team at Multivesco. We also received approval from the Ministère de la Famille and the City of Gatineau for a daycare center designed by a team of architects and engineers.
In December 2023, we proudly opened the doors to Garderie Ami Calin Aylmer, located next to the serene Parc Amsterdam. This peaceful environment allows children to connect with nature and enjoy outdoor activities that complement their Montessori learning experience. The daycare’s Montessori classroom, which includes a gym, fosters an environment where children develop independence, focus, and confidence.
At Garderie Ami Calin, we believe in the process of "normalization" — where children build self-discipline, curiosity, and a lifelong passion for learning. We are honored to provide a space where children can grow, explore, and thrive.

Philosophy
Our educational philosophy is based on the belief that children are the main actors in their development and that all children and their learning are unique. We believe that it is important to respect children’s differences and to accommodate our educational program according to their needs and interests.
Our Values
-
Play-Based Learning
We believe that play is a vital part of early childhood development. Our programs are designed to encourage exploration, creativity, and problem-solving, allowing children to learn naturally through joyful and meaningful play.
-
Safe and Inclusive Environment
We strive to create a welcoming space where every child feels safe, valued, and respected. Inclusivity is at the heart of our daycare, embracing children of all backgrounds, abilities, and family situations.
-
Positive Social Interaction
Building strong relationships is key to our approach. We emphasize kindness, empathy, and cooperation, helping children to develop meaningful friendships, respect for others, and strong social skills that will benefit them throughout life.
-
Focus on Developmental Skills
Our educational activities are designed to support holistic growth, addressing cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development. We provide experiences that prepare children for smooth transitions to school and foster lifelong learning.
-
Family Partnership
We value open and consistent communication with families, recognizing that parents and caregivers are an essential part of each child’s learning journey. Through collaboration, we aim to create a cohesive experience that supports each child’s well-being and growth.
-
Respect for Nature and Community
We incorporate a love for nature and respect for our community into daily activities, teaching children to appreciate and care for the world around them. This includes outdoor learning, community involvement, and sustainable practices that inspire environmental stewardship from an early age.
